MOHAMMED ALI- Graffiti Artist
Who would have thought that Islamic Art and Graffiti Art would share such fascinating parallels? Graffiti artists would strive to remain anonymous and would not seek faim or attention in the conventional sense, and similarly calligraphers from the islamic art world would also remain anonymous, their art wasn’t glorifying themselves, but rather the word itself. It was about the power of words.
Mohammed Ali was one of those who was inspired and drawn to this facinating expression of urban art. The early eighties saw the birth of graffiti in the UK, and it was the book “Subway Art” which enlightened young people up and down the country. Unlike today, with the internet being the main tool in taking concepts to an international audience, it was via this book, that the kids discovered this amazing artistic movement that was born in the USA.
Mohammed aims to merge together these two distinct styles, and in turn has created an exciting form that attempts to ‘bring the best of boths worlds’ together.

Well guys I’m back from holiday, it was a blast chillin on the beach, drinking till you cant see straight and of course it was my birthday, which reminds me thanks for all the birthday messages everyone who put them much love for you all.

So yeah so far its been pretty cool, the drive down was awful didn’t sleep at all. but when we got here it was boiling so stayed on the beach all day :) got me a sun tan. looks like another sunny day today sooo gonna be a beach day. birthday tomorrow we alll gonna get wrecked on the beach and have a BBQ, but not untill ive been to the city to buy some new threads :).
